Ukraine has gone up five positions up in the Doing Business rating and currently comes 71st. This research was published on Doing Business website of the World Bank.
According to the information, Ukraine improved the following indicators:
- minority shareholders protection (81st place last year and 72nd place this year) by requiring detailed immediate public disclosure of related-party transactions;
- dealing with construction permits made easier, by eliminating a requirement that the investors obtain clearance from the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations (from 35th to 30th place);
"Ukraine made construction permitting more costly by increasing the contribution fee to the city social and engineering-transport infrastructure. On the other hand, Ukraine made dealing with construction permits easier by eliminating a requirement that investors obtain clearance from the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations," the message says.
- trading across borders, as it was simplified by eliminating the verification requirement on auto parts from the State Service of Export Control (from 119th place to 78th).
- enforcing contracts made easier by introducing a simplified procedure for small claims and pre-trial conferences as part of the case management techniques used in all commercial courts.
