Ukraine retains 13th place in Worldsteel ranking

In October 2018 Ukraine reduced steel production by 6.7% compared to the same period in 2017. Ukrainian metallurgists produced 1.788 million tons of steel, retaining 13th place in the world ranking, which includes 64 countries. This is reported the World Steel Manufacturers Association.

In total, for the first ten months of 2018, Ukrainian metallurgists produced 17.567 million tons of steel.

In October 2018, an increase in steel production by 5.8% - to 156.6 million tons was recorded in the whole world compared to October of last year. In total, in the ten months of 2018, metallurgists produced 1 502 million tons of steel, which is 4.7% more compared to the same period in 2017.

The rating of the ten largest steel-producing countries according to the results of October 2018 is as follows:

    China - 82.552 million tons (+ 9.1%);
    India - 8.77 million tons (+ 0.4%);
    Japan - 8.564 million tons (-4.5%);
    The USA - 7.571 million tons (+ 10.5%);
    South Korea - 6.185 million tons (+ 3.5%);
    Russia - 6 million tons (+ 0.6%);
    Germany - 3.6 million tons (+ 1.4%);
    Brazil - 3.164 million tons (-4.3%);
    Turkey - 3.135 million tons (+ 3%);
    Italy - 2.299 million tons (-3.4%).

At the end of 2017, Ukraine occupied the 12th place in the world ranking of steel producers, having produced 22.7 million, which is 6.4% less than in 2016. At the end of 2013, Ukraine was the 7th in the world, producing 30.4 million tons.
