Former Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius claimed that Ukraine passed the bottom of the economic cycle a year and a half ago and now it has the initial economic growth. He claimed this at Gordon show broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.
‘I am absolutely sure that the bottom is passed a year and a half ago. Now, it is a growth that does not satisfy us but it is the classic situation of the initial stage of the economic growth. The majority of the business, enterprisers, banks cannot work properly they need the push but they will begin to recover step by step. There is the put-up demand on the different spheres – retail, tourism, building and others. It reminds me the situation after the financial crisis in 2008 when nobody believed in 2010 that there will the growth in Europe and Baltic countries. And it was only the beginning’, he explained.
Abromavicius added that there is a basis for the economic growth in the country and it will take place despite the political situation.
The National Bank of Ukraine improved the prognosis of the Ukraine’s GDP up to 2.2%. It improved due to the better activity of the economic sectors.
