Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated that Ukraine can refuse from the imported gas in the next five years because of the opening of the access to the Ukrainian resources as Ukrinform reported.

“We begin to develop a very difficult and closed system, the access to the Ukrainian resources. I think that it will open us access in the next five years and will allow us not to purchase gas for currency but produce it in Ukraine,” Groysman said.

As we reported Naftogaz-Ukraine is ready to set counters for the consumers if they sign contracts. Consumers themselves can be the sources of the means. Naftogaz representatives have checked and chosen the counters which they can install. According to Kobolev, one counter costs around $43 – 46. If Naftogaz purchases counters for the consumers, their price will fall down by 20-30%.

Besides, Maroš Šefčovič, the Head of the European Commission, made an offer to Ukraine concerning the new contract on Russian gas transit after 2019.
