On the request of traders, the test gas supplies from Slovakia to Poland were held through the gas transporting system of Ukraine as Executive Director of Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine Serhiy Makohon reported on Facebook.
On May 18, the transit contract Poland-Russia on Yamalsly gas pipeline (33 billion cubic meters).
“As of April 27, Gazprom does not fulfill the decision of the Arbitration on the reconsideration of the price on gas supply to Poland. To prepare to different possible scenarios of development of the situation, on the request of the number of traders, the test gas supplies from Slovakia to Poland were held through the gas transporting system of Ukraine in shorthaul regime as well as the supply from underground storage facilities of Ukraine to Poland,” Makohon stated.
He noted that these supplies confirmed the possibility to provide Poland with the necessary resources in full in case of stop/reduction of supplies from Russia.
“Ukraine proved one more time that it continues to remain an important element of the energy security of Europe,” Makohon added.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine is ready to provide the Russian Gazprom with its underground storage facilities for gas.
