From December 1, 2020, the maximum amount of unemployment benefits in Ukraine has risen, as a result of increasing the subsistence level.
This was reported by the press service of the State Employment Service of Ukraine.
"As of today, the subsistence level for able-bodied people makes 2,270 hryvnias (79,4 dollars), respectively, the maximum amount of unemployment benefits is 9,080 hryvnias (317,6) dollars per month," reads the message.
It should be noted that the amount of benefits is determined for each unemployed person individually. It depends on a person's salary and insurance record.
Unemployment benefits are paid depending on the duration of unemployment as a percentage of a certain amount.
As we reported earlier, according to Dafina Gercheva, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine, more than 10% of small and medium-sized enterprises are already on the verge of bankruptcy and will soon go out of business.
Based on the UNDP assessment of the socio-economic impact of the Covid-19 coronavirus infection, more than nine million people will be in financial distress by the end of this year.
