"15.9 billion cubic meters of gas have been accumulated in the Ukrainian underground gas storages (UGS)," the statement said.
The accumulated volume of gas is 3 billion cubic meters more than last year.
"Before the start of the heating season, it is necessary to accumulate about 20 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities to minimize any energy risks," the press service added.
Earlier it was reported that Naftogaz would reduce the price of gas for industrial consumers in August to 203 USD / thousand cubic meters.
Russia named the condition, under which it would be ready to keep the gas transit across Ukraine. According to Sergei Prikhodko, the Deputy Head of the Russian government, all Ukraine-Russia court litigations in the gas sector must be regulated.
"As for the transit of the Russian gas across the territory of Ukraine, we're ready to keep it on the economically profitable conditions, but [also] in case of the righteous solution of all litigations between Gazprom and Naftogaz", Prikhodko said.
