Ukraine is preparing another lawsuit against Russia to the World Trade Organization, concerning limiting import of Ukrainian food products based on sanitary norms, as Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolska told DT.ua.
“We are preparing another lawsuit, which we’ve been talking about for a while. It is the most complicated one for us in terms of evidence base. It concerns limiting import of food products, it’s a so-called phyto-sanitary group, those are the goods, the import of which is limited by sanitary regulations. There are a lot of them, we had been analyzing them and settled on those positions, on which we have a good evidence base,” Mykolska said.
She added that when discussing such arguments it’s necessary to understand that it’s not the government, but the enterprises that have the evidence base.
“Tomorrow we will finalize the request on consultations in this matter, and we are planning to file the suit in the nearest future,” she summed up.
As it was reported earlier, Ukraine is also to sue Russia on agricultural products.
