Ukraine climbs seven positions up in Doing Business rating

Ukraine has climbed seven positions up in the Doing Business-2020 ranking, placing 64th out of 190 countries. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk reported it on his Facebook page.

During 2019, Ukraine has made the biggest steps in the following indicators:

"protection of minority shareholders" - 27 points up;

"obtaining a building permit" - the state jumped 10 positions up in the rating.

Honcharuk noted that such results are a positive signal for Ukrainian entrepreneurs and a "green light" for foreign investors. The PM also expressed confidence that "at such rate, through successful reforms, our state will become a magnet for investments in the near future".

The World Bank's Doing Business rating is the result of an annual survey that assesses the easiness of business activities in 190 countries based on 10 indicators.

As we reported earlier, Ukraine's economy may grow by 3.7% in 2020. This was stated by Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Tymofiy Milovanov during a briefing broadcasted on 112 Ukraine TV Channel.

At the same time, according to the forecasts of the Ministry of Economy, by the end of next year, the inflation rate can decrease to 5.5%.
