Amid cold weather, Ukrtransgaz has raised its gas withdrawal from underground storage facilities to 115 million cubic meters per day, which is the most recorded in the last two autumn-winter periods. The press service of Ukrtransgaz has informed about this on its Facebook page, 112.ua reports.
“As of this morning, the withdrawal of gas from underground storage facilities increased to the highest level (115 million cubic meters) in the last two autumn-winter periods”, - the message reads.
Ukrtransgaz points out the fact that as of today Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities contain some 10.1 billion of cubic meters of gas, which exceeds the last year’s level by 18%. Ukrtransgaz claims the aforementioned amount is enough for Ukraine to comfortably make it through the current heating season.
Because of the cold weather, Ukraine raised its withdrawal of gas from underground storage facilities by 7%, to 101 million cubic meters (for the first time in a year). The rest of the required amount of gas is covered by the gas produced within the country and imports from Europe.
