Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund discussed the terms of approval of a new cooperation program. This was stated by IMF Chief Executive Officer Kristalina Georgieva, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"At the working level, we have reached an agreement with Ukraine, in which there are certain conditions that must be satisfied. Work continues, representatives (of the IMF - ed.) continue to interact with Ukraine," said Georgieva.
If these conditions are met, the Fund will turn to the Executive Board.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund reached an agreement on a new cooperation program. The IMF has agreed to provide Ukraine with 5.5 billion dollars.
“Much needed and timely conclusion of the staff level agreement, international recognition of ongoing reforms in Ukraine. Together with the recent adoption of anti-money laundering law (final analysis of which still ongoing), should open the way also to the EU’s macro-financial assistance,” the ambassador stated.
