The law has come into force in Ukraine. It provides for the allocation of $27 million to pay salaries to employees of the general and appellate courts. The relevant law was passed by Ukrainian Parliament Verkhovna Rada on June 17.
It should be noted that the document initially provided for the allocation of $22 million to the courts.
However, on April 16, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) announced that it had decided to transfer $5 million, previously earmarked for the reconstruction of the HACC buildings, to meet the needs of the courts of first and appellate instances.
The funds were also taken from the Intellectual Property High Court.
The total amount of funds to be used to pay court staff increased to $27million. This money will be spent on court employees' salaries, as well as the purchase of postage stamps and payment for postal services.
