For the first time in seven years, the trade turnover between Ukraine and Azerbaijan reached a record high of almost $1 billion, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said during a joint statement with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev following the meeting.

"Turnover has not only not decreased, despite what is happening around the world, and our countries are no exception, despite Covid-19 and despite the pandemic for the first time in seven years, turnover reached a record high of almost $1 billion," said Zelensky.

He added that Ukraine and Azerbaijan have set a goal to double bilateral trade by 2024.

"We also want to increase the amount of mutual investment and the number of large-scale joint projects. This is, in particular, the participation of Azerbaijani companies in the "Big Construction" programs," the Ukrainian head of state said.

He clarified that it is a question of realization of joint projects both in Ukraine, and in Azerbaijan.

As it was reported, on January 14 President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev came on a working visit to Ukraine.
