Switzerland arrests 15 million allocated by Ukraine as guarantee of Eurovision holding

The Genevese Office on enforced recovery of debts initiated the arrest of the 15 million of euro that Ukraine allocated as the guarantee of holding of the Eurovision-2017. The National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (UA: PBC) reported this.

‘Ukraine provided the guarantee in the amount of 15 million of euro to prepare and hold Eurovision-2017. The international song contest was successfully held and the sum of the guarantee should be given back’, the UA: PBC claimed.

Moreover, UA: PBC stated to hire the Swiss juristic company to investigate the reasons of this arrest.

‘We hired the juristic company from Switzerland because we have to know all circumstances of the case and define the implementing of the arrest in the correspond with the Swiss legislation’, Zurab Alasaniya said.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) noted that the Genevese Office on enforced recovery of debts initiated the arrest of the guarantee without any explanations and without pointing the initiator of this.
