To confiscate money of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, it is necessary to adopt a law on the address special seizure. People’s Deputy Boryslav Bereza said this on air of 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
"If we really want to confiscate money of Yanukovych, we should actually approve the law on targeted special seizure, and no one wants to do that. We need a law on the seizure of the money of Yanukovych and indicating all his assets and accounts, which will be subject to this seizure. Instead, this law uses technology in which every citizen can fall under it and therefore there are some corruption risks. Our committee has decided that this law contains a corruption factors", Bereza said.
People's Deputy also noted that, in the opinion of the European partners, Ukraine doesn’t need the law on special seizure.
"Special seizure law is a sophisticated tool, which is very difficult to use in Ukraine. The EU Ambassador said that today Ukraine doesn’t need the law on the special seizure. European partners say that we need to concentrate on the implementation of those laws, which we have already approved", he said.
Recall, the Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on September 14 approved a bill on special seizure and forwarded it to parliament. As stated Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko, the law on civil forfeiture will return $ 1.5 billion of the money of ex-president Viktor Yanukovych.
