The Council of the National Bank of Ukraine refused to appoint a deputy head of the NBU Oleh Churiy for a new term in office. The head of the NBU Council, Bohdan Danylyshyn wrote this on his Facebook page.
"Today, July 6, 2020, an extraordinary meeting of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine took place, at which the presentation of the Chairman of the NBU Smoliy on the appointment of Churiy Oleh as the deputy head of the NBU was considered. The council refrained from appointing Churiy to the position of the deputy head of the National Bank of Ukraine," he wrote.
At the same time, Bohdan Danylyshyn said that in accordance with Art. 20 of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Bank of Ukraine", the deputy head of the NBU, whose term of office has expired, holds this position until the appointment of a new deputy head of the NBU.
