Business Credit said that the sales in 2017 in natural terms increased by 12% to reach 1.513 billion packs.
According to the firm, particularly, retail sales of pharmaceutical goods in 2017 grew by 19% in monetary terms and reached $1.9 million, whereas in natural terms they rose by 12% to reach 942.777 million packs.
The average weighted price of goods in the pharmacy basket in 2017 stood at UAH 45.12 per package, while that in the medicine basket was at UAH 58 per pack.
Business Credit noted a 2% increase in the total turnover, as well as a 5% growth in average prices due to a new, larger range of available goods.
Nevertheless, according to the firm’s analysts, the higher prices in the retail pharmacy segment was moderate and below the dynamics of the currency exchange rate.
In the main categories of the pharmacy basket, goods shifted towards more expensive items, except for the “cosmetics” and “medical bandaging materials” categories, in which consumers started to purchase cheaper items.
