Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation expects to sign gas transit agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on the upcoming weekend. The corresponding statement was made by Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak in an interview with RBC.
"In the last few weeks, Gazprom, Naftogaz and Operator of Ukraine's Gas Transportation System have been working intensively to prepare an inter-operator agreement setting out all the conditions for the interaction of the two gas transportation systems, as well as the transport contract. We are counting on our companies to finalize these documents this weekend," Novak said.
He noted that the transit volumes recorded in the protocol of Ukraine and the Russian Federation are minimal - they can be increased if it is necessary.
As we reported earlier, Naftogaz-Ukraine and Russian Gazprom will meet on December 26 to finally agree on the treaties of the gas transit as Executive Director of Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko reported on Facebook.
“On December 26, teams of Naftogaz and Gazprom will met to finally agree on the conditions of the treaty. Each side has their draft treaties and we need to sign only one set. Actually, on December 26, we will work on our common variant,” he wrote.
