Since the start of the annexation, Russia has extracted 7.2 billion cubic metersof  natural gas in the occupied Crimea and the shelf of the Black and Azov Seas and 222.6 thousand tons of gas condensate and oil. At least 52% of the total natural gas production on the peninsula - 3.757 billion cubic meters were extracted by Chernomorneftegaz unitary state-owned enterprise of the Republic of Crimea (which took the property of the Ukrainian Chornomornaftogaz) - from the Odesa field, said Svitlana Nezhnova, chairman of the board of the Chornomornaftogaz, in an interview with 112.ua.

At the Odesa field, in addition to 11 wells drilled by Ukraine, the invaders in 2014-2015 unlawfully drilled 7 more wells. From the "fake" deposit, Chernomorneftegaz pumped out  971 million cubic meters of natural gas in 2014, and in 2015 - 939 million cubic meters, in 2016 - 863 million cubic meters, in 2017 - 984 million cubic meters. In total, 2 billion cubic meters of gas and 57.1 thousand tons of gas condensate and oil were produced in the occupied peninsula in 2014, and in 2015 - 1.84 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 61.1 thousand tons of gas condensate and oil, in 2016 - 1.67 billion cubic meters of gas and 53.4 thousand tons of gas condensate and oil, in 2017 - 1.62 billion cubic meters of gas and 51 thousand tons of gas condensate and oil.

Odesa Field was commissioned in November 2012 and is located in the economic zone of Ukraine. According to the State Balance of Minerals of Ukraine as of January 1, 2014, its initial balance reserves were 21.1 billion cubic meters of gas and 330 thousand tons of condensate. Before the occupation, Chornomornaftogaz produced about 470.3 million cubic meters of gas at the field.

Svitlana Nezhnova said that 3 block-conductors were installed at the Odesa field, 92 km of the underwater pipeline (which connected the deposit with the peninsula) was laid. It was also planned to build a gas pipeline to the Nameless deposit (located near Odesa), the joint development project was even approved by the Cabinet of Ministers (No. 302 of 05.03.2009). However, because of the annexation of Crimea, these plans could not be realized.
