Roshen Corporation decided to stop the production activity of Lipetsk confectionery factory (Russia), reads the company’s official statement.
‘Roshen Corporation stops production activities of Lipetsk Confectionery Factory. This decision was made for economic and political reasons. Full production stop and maintenance of industrial and infrastructure facilities are planned for April 2017,’ the document says as posted at the enterprise’s official website.
Roshen is a major candy producer with an annual output of 450,000 metric tons of confectionery goods. The corporation has assets in Ukraine, Lithuania, Hungary and Russia. When the corporation's owner Petro Poroshenko was running for president in 2014, he promised to sell Roshen, but has not fulfilled his promise yet.
