“The bill that provides for the abolition of the third group of taxpayers paying taxes under the simplified procedure… I do not support it [bill #8089],” the president said during a meeting with corporate representatives in Kyiv on Monday.
The bill provides for the abolition of the third group of taxpayers using the simplified taxation system, as well as for the reduction of the value-added tax rate from 20% to 16%.
At the same time, the Ukrainian President favors the idea of introducing a tax amnesty in the country, which could allow citizens to pay the tax, bring capital into the state and legally invest in the national economy.
“I suggest that we go back to considering the so-called “zero” declaration. We cannot assume that every Ukrainian is guilty of something. We need to ensure that every person has the opportunity to pay the applicable tax, in accordance with the law, bring capital and invest in Ukraine, while being a free citizen of a free country”, - the head of the Ukrainian state said.
Furthermore, the President shared his views on the introduction of a tax on withdrawn capital for small and medium-sized corporations as a compromise solution.
“I am ready for any compromise… At first, this could apply to small and medium-sized enterprises”, - Poroshenko said.
Nevertheless, the President stressed that he does not intend to submit a bill that opposes the replacement of the profit tax, and wants further discussions on the bill.
“The notion that only dividends are to be attracted to the national budget… is incorrect,” – the President summed up.
