President enacts sanctions against firms affiliated with four banks

The sanctions will remain in place for at least a year.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed Decree #57/2018, bringing into effect the decision made by the National Security and Defense Council on 1 March 2018. The decision concerned special personal economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions).

“Appropriate measures shall be applied to corporations for a term of one year. The sanctions are intended to prevent capital outflow out of Ukraine in favor of businesses affiliated with Public Joint-Stock Company Sberbank, Joint-Stock Commercial Industrial and Investment Bank (Prominvestbank), OJSC VTB Bank and OJSC BM Bank,” the press service of the President said on Tuesday, 112.ua reports.

The relevant presidential decree was also posted on the official website of the head of the Ukrainian state.
