President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) David Lipton. They discussed the Memorandum on economy and financial policy in the context of the allocation of the next tranche to Ukraine. The press service of the Ukrainian president reported this.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized the vitally important role of the IMF in the implementation of reforms in Ukraine.
‘The sides discussed the status of the implementation of the education, medical and pension reforms. President Poroshenko noted the importance of the creation of the effective system of the fight against corruption in Ukraine’, the press service noted.
They also discussed the perspectives of the fulfillment of the Memorandum in the context of the allocation of the next tranche to Ukraine within EFF (Extended Fund Facility) program.
David Lipton noted that Ukraine should use the positive improvements in the internal economy to finish the reforms and stable growth and noted the high dynamics in the cooperation between Ukraine and IMF.
