Polish PGNiG Company will hold the first supplies of the natural gas for the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, according to the contract with Energy Resources of Ukraine as PGNiG reported.
The gas supplies will take place within a tended announced by the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine and won by the Energy Resources of Ukraine.
According to the terms of tended, the gas will be supplied from October 1, 2020, until May 1, 2021. The fuel will be used for the technical needs of the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System Operator. It will be the first supplies of natural gas by PGNiG Company.
President of the PGNiG Management Board Jerzy Kwieciński underlined that the supplies of the Ukrainian gas operator is one of the examples of PGNiG dedication to the creation of the regional gas market in this part of Europe.
Since mid-2016, PGNiG exported to Ukraine over 3 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Only in the first half of 2020, the volume of the gas export made 0.9 billion cubic meters and it shows a growth by 190% annually.
As we reported, Poland’s PGNiG SA Company and the Ukrainian group of companies ERU signed the agreement on the exploration and natural gas extraction in Lviv region, Ukraine, not far from the border with Poland.
