Piotr Naimski, the Polish government’s strategic energy infrastructure commissioner, Rick Perry, the US Secretary of Energy, and Oleksandr Danyliuk, secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, have signed an agreement with the aim to enhance regional security of gas supply. The signing of the treaty took place in Warsaw on August 31, 2019, as Polish Radio informed.

According to the Naimski, the aim of the agreement is diversification of gas supply to Ukraine, which is dependent on Russia in this sphere. Achieving this goal would be possible through liquefied gas terminal development in Świnoujście and building of Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, which will connect Poland with Norway. Due to this, it will be possible to receive liquified gas from the USA. Ukraine will be able to purchase the reduced gas from the U.S. or from an Oil company.
