The Russian billionaires grew richer by $62 billion

During the pandemic, the number of US-dollar billionaires in Russia increased from 99 up to 101 persons, as Russian Forbes reported.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Russian billionaires grew richer by $62 billion: their collective wealth increased from $392 billion up to $454 billion.

The wealth of five richest Russians increased by $22.6 billion up to $109.5 billion. The majority owner of Nornickel Vladimir Potanin got rich more than others. The businessman increased his state from $19.7 billion up to $26.1 billion during the pandemic.

Chairman of the board of Novatek Leonid Mikhelson occupies the second place. His income increased from $17.1 billion up to $22.5 billion for two months.

The next one is co-owner of Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) Vladimir Lisin, as his state grew from $18.1 billion up to $21 billons.

President of Severstal Aleksey Mordashov increased his income from $16.8 billion up to $19.1 billions, while co-owner of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov – from $15.2 up to $20.8 billion.

The starting point of the baseline of this statistic is March 18 when the stock markets experienced one of the heaviest falls. A week before, on March 11, the WHO recognized the spread of the coronavirus as a pandemic.

According to Forbes, entrepreneurs whose business is tied with the internet won the most during the pandemic. Founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg and co-owner of Amazon Jeff Bezos got richer by $31.8 billion and $30 billion respectively.
