The number of bankrupt companies in the Russian Federation is close to the record. This is reported by DW, referring to the data of the analytical review of the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasting.
"The number of bankrupt companies in Russia increased by 3% in the third quarter of 2017, compared with the second quarter of 2009. About 3227 companies announced their bankruptcy from July to September of this year, a 12.4% increase over the same period in 2016. The registered level of bankruptcies is only 2.1 percent lower than the record level reached in October 2009, "the report said.
At the same time, it is noted that the companies of the construction industry were most affected. "A significant number of bankruptcies are also noted in the field of trade, engineering and food industry," the report adds.
Among the reasons for this deplorable dynamics, the experts of the Center for Strategic Studies called the slow decline of Centrobank key rate and weak consumer demand, while noting that real incomes of the population are declining for 12 consecutive quarters.
