"The new transit contract with an operator separated from “Naftogaz” should be concluded in accordance with European rules, and such a contract should be fair and balanced itself," he said.
Vitrenko is convinced that there are no legitimate grounds for a new contract for the transit of gas through Ukraine not to be concluded in accordance with European rules, and “Naftogaz” expresses its willingness to work diligently on this.
Vitrenko also stated that “Naftogaz” is ready to consider a proposal for gas supplies on the account of Gazprom's current debt repayment to Ukraine.
As we reported earlier, climate change processes will influence the future of Naftogaz and the gas industry as a whole. The head of Naftogaz-Ukraine Andriy Kobolev at the annual general meeting of the European Business Association (EBA) during the thematic panel "Waiting for the Future" stated this.
"We see climate change and its consequences and the task of each energy company to contribute to solving climate problems. One of the main problems of the energy company is to switch from non-renewable energy sources to renewable energy sources," - Kobolev said.
