Naftogaz will spend up to UAH 200 million ($7,214,384.00) to install small solar power stations in Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson regions. The relevant decision was made at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Thus, the government obliged Naftogaz to implement a social program to restore the welfare of residents of the three regions.
In particular, there are plans to install such power plants on the buildings of social infrastructure and law enforcement agencies.
Besides, solar power stations will be used for lighting crosswalks and public places.
We remind that in August 2019 in the official parliamentary publication "Voice of Ukraine" officially published the law № 2755-VIII, which eliminates inconsistencies in the law on alternative energy sources and provides the opportunity to build solar power plants (SPS) both on the ground and on roofs and facade structures. The law also defines the procedure for calculating the "green" tariff for all domestic solar power plants, regardless of their location and installed capacity.
