Naftogaz of Ukraine has resumed import of gas from the EU for the period of cold weather. This was announced by the company's chief commercial director Yuri Vitrenko on the sidelines of the Ukrainian Energy Forum-2018 in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"Yes, we resumed import. From Slovakia, a little from Hungary, the daily volume is about 12 million cubic meters," Vitrenko said.
He also noted that these deliveries will not affect the price of gas for industrial consumers in March this year. Vitrenko added that imports were resumed to ensure a balanced work in the cold season.
Let's remind, that Naftogaz Company has stopped deliveries of gas from EU since February, 1st this year.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine because of the cold weather increased the gas withdrawal from storage facilities by 7%, to the level of 101 million cubic meters (for the first time in a year). It was noted that the remaining requirements are covered by domestic gas extraction and imports from Europe.
