Naftogaz increased the volume of gas in the underground storage facilities up to 20.5 billion cubic meters of gas, as the company reported on Facebook.
“Over 20.5 billion cubic meters of gas have been accumulated in Ukrainian underground storage facilities. It is the historical maximum in the facilities over the past nine years. We continue the preparation for difficult winter in the terms of possible “null transit”,” the message said.
Naftogaz noted that Ukraine is ready for the holding of stable heating season 2019/2020.
Earlier, we reported that Ukraine has not been supplying any gas for its needs from Russia for 1400 days, so all imported gas comes exclusively from the territory of the European Union.
Ukrtransgaz also said that the company is upgrading the facilities to increase reliability and increase the capacity of importing routes, as part of the preparation of the underground storages of gas for the autumn-winter heating season of 2019/2020. In particular, the overhaul of the Komarno compressor station is being completed, which will result in the creation of additional guaranteed capacity for import of natural gas from Poland. There is also a preparatory work to create new and expand existing capacity for import from Romania and Slovakia.
