The 'Naftogaz Ukraine' does not hold the dominant position in the gas market after the integration of the Ukrainian market to the European as the press service of the company stated in the results of the analysis.
At the same time, Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine was asked to research the market to check this information.
It is noted that the situation was influenced by the new communication with Slovakia on the supply of the gas of the European companies.
'According to the decision of the government, the 'Naftogaz' has 100% share in the gas supply to the district heating providers and wholesale of the gas to the regional gas-supplying companies that work with the population. But it does not mean that the 'Naftogaz' holds the dominant position because if the 'Naftogaz' wants to sale the gas to the companies on the worse conditions that the market's conditions are then the companies will have the possibilities to buy gas from other selling companies', the 'Naftogaz' noted.
It is specified that the standard European test for the determination of the monopoly position lies in the check will be the company able to sustain the price at least 5% higher than the price that formed in the significant competition during the year or not.
'The position of 'Naftogaz' at the market cannot lead to the selling of the gas for the higher price then at the competitive market even if it is desirable. The absence of such possibilities proves that the 'Naftogaz' does not hold the dominant position in the market', the company assured.
It was reported that Ukraine supplied the record-breaking 42, 016 millions of cubic meters of the natural gas from the Slovakian side.
