Mykolaiv port in January 2018 increased transshipment of cargo by 8.4% compared to January 2017, to 1.953 million tonnes, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the enterprise increased transshipment of exported cargo by 19%, to 1.452 million tonnes, imported freight by 8.3%, to 431,700 tonnes within the reporting period. Transshipment of transit goods dropped by almost 8 times, to 12,700 tonnes, cabotage cargo rose by 36.5%, to 50,500 tonnes.

In January 2018 the port reduced the handling of liquid cargo by 14.4%, to 194,500 tonnes, goods in containers by 17.7%, to 224,000 tonnes, dry bulk grew by 17.7%, to 1.534 million tonnes.

Mykolaiv seaport has an area of 97.3 ha and a water area of 224.5 ha. It is connected to the Black Sea by the Buho-Dniprovsko-Lymansky canal. The port has 15 berths with a total length of 2.962 km.
