MPs summon Chairman of Antimonopoly Committee to parliament

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine summoned Yuriy Terentyev, the Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU), to Parliament, endorsing the draft resolution #2306.

328 MPs voted in favor of it.

The deputies decided to hear Yuriy Terentyev’s report on the fulfillment of his duties as the chairman of the AMCU to observe the legislation on the protection of economic competition. Following the results, MPs intend to give an assessment of the Antimonopoly Committee chairman’s decisions.

The explanatory note refers to Art. 9 of the Law on Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, according to which “the Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine reports to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the activities of the Antimonopoly Committee at the request of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, but at least once a year".

As we reported earlier, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine fined a tour operator Join up for $53,600 for a false report on transportation of the passengers of UIA and WINDROSE, as the Chairman of the Committee Yuriy Terentyev reported on Facebook.

“Anti-Monopoly Committee fined Join Up tour operator by $53,600 for distribution of false information about the airlines… The tour operator informed its potential clients which air transportation will be implemented by UIA and WINDROSE, with which the tour operator did not have agreements,” Terentyev wrote.
