The meeting on $1 billion tranche allocation for Ukraine under the Expanded Financing Facility program (EFF) has disappeared from the IMF Executive Board agenda, according to the calendar of the meetings published on the official website.
The calendar shows that the nearest meeting is scheduled for March 20 to consider Qatar issue. There is no information provided regarding the reasons for such change on the website.
The source close to negotiations process informed Interfax-Ukraine that the possible reason for this postponement could be the decision by National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine this week regarding the ban on cargo transportation to separate regions of Donetsk and Luhansk.
Another source noted that prohibition of transport connection with temporarily occupied territories will require revision of macro indicators laid out in the program. According to him, the work may be finished in a short-term.
As it was reported earlier, the International Monetary Fund was to consider allocating a tranche for Ukraine under the Expanded Financing Facility program (EFF) in amount of 1 billion dollars on Monday, March 20.
