A group of Lithuania-based investors will build a solar power station on the premises of a butter factory located in Aleshkivsky district of Kherson region (southern Ukraine). A truck loaded with the equipment necessary for the start of construction arrived in Ukraine on 29 December 2017, UkrAgroConsult reports.
This will be the first investment project carried out by the Lithuania-based Global BOD Group and its Ukraine-based partner Solitech Ukraine. The project is part of a memorandum on the development of renewable energy and the construction of solar power plants in Khersonska region that was signed on 1 September 2017 during the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum.
The solar power station will be built on the premises of a butter-making factory in two stages. Phase 1 is expected to start operation in the beginning of 2018. The start of operation of the newly-built solar power plant will enable the butter-making factory to be totally self-sufficient in terms of its energy use.
