The law on the establishment of an independent operator of Gas Transportation System, which had been previously published in the parliamentary edition "Voice of Ukraine", has gone into effect in Ukraine. It envisages amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine.
The Cabinet of Ministers has to adopt the normative-legal acts provided by this law and harmonize its normative-legal acts with this law within one month from the day the law enters into force.
The document, in particular, seeks to exempt the transaction of transferring gas transportation system of property necessary for the transportation of natural gas to the new operator from discharge of valued added tax.
As we reported earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is ready to maintain Ukrainian transit, but Kyiv’s offer for gas transit is so far economically unacceptable. Putin said this at a press conference after negotiations with the President of Serbia, Alexander Vučić, Interfax-Ukraine informed.
"I constantly repeat that we are ready to preserve Ukrainian transit. We are currently negotiating in Vienna. This is no secret. True, the conditions offered to us by possible Ukrainian transit countries are economically unacceptable. For now. But I hope that this is a requesting position - it will be possible to coordinate the positions somehow," Putin noticed.
