According to the press-service’s message, 1,768 million passengers travelled on international flights, while another 83,3 thousand passengers travelled domestically.
A total of 23,257 flights were handled, both departures and arrivals, which shows a 27.3% increase from the 2016 levels. 19,115 of these were international flights, the remaining 4,142 were domestic flights.
Minsk, Dubai, Budapest, Ankara, Antalya, Sharm-el-Sheikh, Warsaw and Rome were the most popular international destinations. Passengers who travelled within Ukraine went mostly to Odesa, Zaporizhzhya and Lviv.
When it comes to the figures exhibited in December 2017, the airport handled a total of 155,4 thousand passengers, of which 149 thousand travelled abroad and 6,4 thousand went to other destinations in Ukraine. The total number of passengers that travelled to or from the airport in December was 43.6% higher than the number observed in December 2016. In the last month of the year, a total of 1877 flights were handled, which is 12% higher than in December of last year. 1584 of those were international flights, while another 293 were domestic.
Kyiv international airport is located in the business center of Ukraine’s capital, just 7 km outside of the city center. The airport is ranked second in the country in terms of number of flights and passengers it handles. The airport consists of 3 terminals with a total area of 21 thousand square meters. Its terminal B is a separate terminal for business aviation, which is part of the FBO system. The airport’s runway allows it to handle B-737 and A-320 aircrafts.
