Effective on 1 February 2018, the Kyiv City State Administration has cancelled the contract with Mosquito Mobile, the winner of a tender on the construction of a Wi-Fi network in the Kyiv underground in 2014. A message from the Administration published by Khreshatyk newspaper, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“According to the decision made on 19 December 2017 by the permanent tender commission on the attraction of investors to the financing of construction, reconstruction and restoration of residential and non-residential buildings, construction in progress of Kyiv’s engineering transportation infrastructure... from 1 February 2018 the investment agreement on “The construction of a Wi-Fi network in the Kyiv Underground” entered into on 2 December 2014, has been terminated...” – the message reads.
The aforementioned agreement was concluded between KP Kyivsky Metropolitan, OOO Mosquito Mobile and the Kyiv City State Administration’s department for the economy and investments.
In December 2014 the Kyiv City State Administration and Fidomobile (provides services under the Mosquito Mobile brand) concluded a contract on the construction of a Wi-Fi network in the Kyiv underground.
In early January 2018 head of the Kyiv investment agency Oleh Mistyuk claimed that due to financial difficulties Mosquito has suspended its works on the expansion of the capital’s underground Wi-Fi network.
