Former Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev explained why Naftogaz's top management received million-dollar bonuses in 2020. According to him, the bonuses were paid for fulfilled state budget obligations for tax deductions and part of the profit. This was reported by Koboylev in an interview with Liga.net.
"The management of Naftogaz fulfilled in 2020 all the main tasks set before. Some did a good job, some did not. Everything is recorded in the management system," Kobolyev said.
According to him, each of the directors and board members of the state-owned company received bonuses within the maximum allowed limit, which is written in the contract of each Naftogaz employee.
He also believes that Naftogaz has fulfilled its obligations to the budget on 100%. Naftogaz agreed on them with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal and President Volodymyr Zelensky.
It should be mentioned that according to Kyiv Post data, in 2020 the board and directors of Naftogaz received a $ 30 million bonus, despite the negative financial result of the state company - nearly $732 million loss.
As it was reported earlier, on June 17, Naftogaz expected to receive nearly $75 million of profit this year. The financial plan states that the company's gross profit in 2021 is expected at approximately $515 million.
