The international reserves of Ukraine amounted to $17,175 million (in equivalent) as of May 1, according to preliminary data, they grew by $2,052 million or 13.57% compared to March, the press service of National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reports.
It is noted that the increase took place mostly because of the proceeds from International Monetary Fund and other donors.
NBU also stressed that dynamics of reserves in April was defined, among other things, by the income from IMF, European Commission, interventions, through which NBU bought $402.3 million on the currency market, as well as government payments regarding repayment and servicing of government debts in foreign currency totaling $68.1 million (in equivalent), including $6.5 million for servicing of domestic public debt.
