Inflation rate in Ukraine 1.0% in January - State Statistics Service

Consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 1.0% in January 2019. This was reported by the State Statistics Service.

Compared to December, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 2.1%; these of alcohol and cigarettes - by 1.2%. But the prices of clothes and shoes decreased by 4.6%.

Housing and communal services fees increased by 2.6%; health care services by 0.9%; education by 1.4%.

Compared with January of last year, the consumer prices rose by 9.2%.

In 2018, Ukraine's inflation slowed down by 9.8 percent, reads the report by the State Statistics Service 

In December 2018, the rate was 0.8 percent, in November it made 1.4 percent, in October and September 1.9 percent. 

The State Statistics Service specifies that the average annual inflation in 2018 decreased to 10.9% from 14.4% a year earlier. 

In December 2018, the core inflation also decreased to 0.6 percent from 1.1 percent in November, by 1.3 percent in October and 1.9 percent in September. By the end of 2018, it reached 8.7 percent.
