The export duty against the scrap at the value of 30 Euro per ton can be prolonged for 2 years. The decision to advise the Ukrainian Parliament to pass the bill#6382 and the refinements to it was made during the session of the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada on May 17.
‘It will bring the materials to the Ukrainian steel workers, workplaces and salary to the Ukrainians and the necessary weapon and machinery to the Ukrainian Army. We should settle the suppressed Ukrainian economy. We offer to implement the Anti-crisis strategy of the economy development’, Viktor Galasyuk the chairman of the Committee, Deputy Head of the Radical Party of Ukraine on Economic Policy commented upon the decision.
Oleksander Kalenkov the President of the business combination Ukrmetalurgprom noted that the export of the scrap is limited by 32 countries. According to the estimation of the company, the reworked and sold ton of the scrap fits out to the budget of the country in 7-8 times more than the exported one.
The Ukrainian Parliament passed a bill #1455-VIII on July 12, 2016, that increased the fee on the export duty from 10 to 30 Euro per ton.
