In case of gas transit termination by Russia to Europe, the number of cities will face the heating problems from January 1, 2020. It will be caused by transfer of the gas transmission system on the new work regime, as Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk stated during the briefing. 112 Ukraine TV channel reported that.
The Prime Minister assured that Ukraine was generally ready for the heating season and gas reserves in vaults allow to provide the population with warm.
"In case if the contact with the Russian Federation is not extended, in case if gas supplies from Russia to Europe terminate, we have enough reserves of gas to provide the population with it. But due to the peculiarities of working we will be obliged to exploit the gas transportation system in another way, and several cities may have some temporary problems. We know about them in advance and we think about them," Honcharuk said.
According to his words, there are no reasons to think that unforeseen challenges may happen.
