This year, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry assigned 200,000 U.S. dollars to accounts of commanders of Special Forces units. According to Minister Stepan Poltorak, the money was supposed to cover needs of the Special Forces in individual gear, weaponry and ammunition.

The Minister said President charged him ‘to improve social package for fighters of Special Forces’. ‘This way the legendary units become even more battle-worthy,’ the ministry’s press service reported.

‘A military commander’s objective is to provide his fighters with everything necessary to complete his combat mission. Every fighter needs a special approach, since every gadget should be chosen, assorted and applied individually. You simply cannot save on such things. Next year, this sum will be bigger,’ Poltorak said.
