International Monetary Fund (IMF) auditors have arrived in Ukraine to continue discussing the new program, UNIAN reports.

The mission began its work in Kyiv on November 14. According to a representative of the Fund, the IMF mission has started work as it was planned earlier.

International Monetary Fund hopes for quick progress in the work of its mission in Ukraine. It was stated by Poul Thomsen, the director of the IMF's European Department said this in an interview with Voice of America.

"In spite of the inspiring progress, some issues are still unsolved", he said.

The official admitted that, apart from achievements, there is still some "disappointment in terms of combating corruption and state management" in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Oligarch Ihor Kolomoysky believes that it is time for Ukraine to give up the West and forge relations with Russia. He told this in an interview with The New York Times.

“They’re stronger anyway. We have to improve our relations,” he said, comparing Russia’s power to that of Ukraine. “People want peace, a good life, they don’t want to be at war. And you” — America — “are forcing us to be at war, and not even giving us the money for it".
