Swedish company IKEA, the world’s largest furniture and home appliance retailer, has officially announced its recruitment of staff to work at the corporation’s first outlet in Ukraine.
“Staff recruitment in Ukraine is IKEA’s next step in the process of its entrance into the Ukrainian market. The company is recruiting employees to work at their Kyiv store, which is going to be among the world’s first of a new kind”, - the official message by IKEA reads, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
However, the company did not mention where exactly the store will be located, but it is said to be of a city format.
“More details about the city store in Kyiv, its location, its offer of goods and advantages will be made public by the company in the nearest future”, - IKEA representatives claimed.
As reported earlier, Ukrainian job search portals started listing vacancies at IKEA’s first Kyiv City Shop.
In the Swedish retailer’s report for 2017 it is mentioned that the corporation is testing a new city store format with smaller store areas and located closer to city business districts.
In particular, IKEA has already confirmed its intentions to open up to 5,000 m2 stores in Warsaw’s Blue City shopping mall and in downtown Paris. They will be offering a smaller range of goods, while focusing primarily on online commerce services.
As reported earlier, in December 2017 IKEA announced its intent to establish a first store in Kyiv within a period of two years.
According to the press service, the growth of the corporation’s network in Ukraine will be managed by IKEA Southern Eastern Europe, which is part of IKEA Group (Ingka Holding B.V.) The company is engaged in retail trade in Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Slovenia.
