Oleg Prokhorenko, the head of the state-owned Ukrgazvydobuvannya company, is preparing to announce his resignation due to the fact that the company has not fulfilled its plan for gas production.
This is reported by Hromadske with reference to its own sources.
“The head of Ukrgazvydobuvannya could announce resignation because the plan to increase gas production by 2020 has been virtually failed,” the report said.
At the same time, it is noted that at the press conference the heads of Naftohaz, which owns 100% of the shares in Ukrgazvydobuvannya, told that they were not going to dismiss Prokhorenko.
During a government meeting on January 16, 2018, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman criticized the leadership of Naftogaz for failing to meet the targets for increasing its gas production. He offered to tie the payment of bonuses to the managers of Naftogaz to the fulfillment of planned targets.
By the way, the possible resignation of the head of the largest gas producing company in Ukraine began to be discussed in October 2018 after a series of anti-corruption investigations related to the procurement of Ukrgazvydobuvannya.
Ukrgazvydobuvannya is the largest gas producing company in Ukraine, which produces about 75% of the total amounts gas. 100% of the company's shares belong to Naftogaz.
