Government to compensate 80% of planting materials’ cost to gardeners in 2018 – Prime Minister

The 2018 state budget would allocate $10.4 million for the support of horticulture and wine growing.

Gardeners and berry producers will be eligible for the reimbursement of up to 80% of the cost of planting materials in 2018, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has announced, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“I would like to tell everyone who intends to establish gardens that the government strongly supports the gardening and berry growing industry of Ukraine nowadays. We are going to reimburse 80% of the value of the planting stock,” he said during a government meeting on Wednesday.

Prime Minister expressed his hope that the government will coordinate the allocation of funds under the programs for the support of the agricultural sector within the first ten days of February.

It was previously announced that the 2018 state budget would allocate $10.4 million for the support of horticulture and wine growing.

The 2016 state budget allocated $218 million for the support of Ukraine’s agricultural industry, whereas the 2018 state budget provides for the allocation of $252.6 million to the cause.
