The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has launched financing of loans taken for energy efficiency purposes in 2018 at state-owned Oshadbank, Ukrgazbank and Privatbank, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
The press service of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving has informed that beginning on 18 April, Ukrainian citizens will be able to utilize the government’s residential energy efficiency financing program at authorized banks and to receive refunds.
According to the agency, some 20% will be refunded for the purchase of non-gas burning boilers (35% for subsidy recipients), 35% for house insulation, and 40-70% - for insulation of high-rise apartment buildings by associations of homeowners.
Also, private households and associations of homeowners would be able to get extra compensation from local institutions. Such programs are already introduced in 62 cities and towns of Ukraine.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine provided $15.3 million for the compensation of loans taken for energy efficiency purposes in 2018. The figure includes $7.3 million for associations of homeowners.
Since the program was launched in October 2014, more than 400,000 Ukrainian households have applied for over $192 million worth of energy efficiency loans.
